Terms of Competition

Eligibility

Any individual who holds amateur status and is not in thetop 30 of The Indian Golf Union’s Order of Merit and is at least 21 yearsof age as on the date of competition.

Entries

Entries will be by invitation only. Entries received may beaccepted or not accepted at the sole discretion of the TournamentCommittee and/or the organisers.

Format

  • This is a stableford competition with two concurrent events: 1) Pairs event and 2) Individual event.
  • In the Pairs events, two players will play as a team. The better net score of the partners will count as the team’s score for a hole.
  • In the Individual event, a player’s individual stableford points will be considered as his or her score.

Draws

The draws will be made by the Tournament Committee. TheTournament Committee hereby specifies that the start of the competition as a 'shotgun' start. Players will be required to start only from the tee assigned to them in the draw.

Winners

  1. Pairs Event: The winning team will be the team with thehighest stableford points calculated as above.
  2. Individual Event: The winner will be the player with the highest stableford points.

Ties

Ties will be decided as below:

  • Ties will be decided based on countback method by matching score cards over the last 9, 6, 3 and last hole.
  • If the tie is still not resolved, the winner will be determined by a draw of lots.

Prizes

Pairs Event

Winning Team, Runner-Up Team & Second Runner-Up.

Individual Event

Winner: 0-15 handicap category
Runner-Up: 0-15 handicap category
Winner: 16 & above handicap category
Runner-Up: 16 & above category

Rules of Golf

The competition will be played according to the current Rules of Golf as promulgated by the R&A Ltd.

Handicaps

All participants must have a valid handicap/handicap index issued by an IGU affiliated club or by WHS or by GHIN. Course handicap will be computed from an index if provided, else the Tournament Committee will assign a course handicap as it deems appropriate. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept, modify or reject a handicap/handicap index furnished by a player.

Handicap Allowance

75% of the calculated/assigned course handicap is the handicap allowance for a player. The maximum handicap course handicap allowed will be 24 for men and women.

Tees

All players will play from the competition tees as specified for Men & Women by the Tournament Committee.

Referee

There is a tournament referee, Mr. Hari Achanta (9845043880) who can be called on mobile phone for any on-courseclarification on the Rules.

Tournament Committee

The tournament committee will consist of the following persons:

  • Mr. Sumit Rathor
  • Mr. Declan McCollam
  • Mr. Hari Achanta

Local Rules

The Local Rules of the venue club will apply as printed on the score card.

Time of Starting

If the player arrives at his/her starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is as per the rule applicable to the format. Penalty for coming late beyond five minutes is a disqualification.

Practice

Rule 5.5b is modified in this way: Between the play of two holes, a player must not make any practice stroke on or near the putting green of the hole just completed or test the surface of the putting green by rubbing the putting green or rolling a ball.

Incomplete Round

In case bad weather, light or any other reason makes it not possible to complete the round, the Committee will determine the winner based on a method it deems fit else it may deem the competition null & void and no winners will be declared.

Results of Round/Competition Final

The result of the first round is deemed final when the results are announced at the result ceremony after the round.

The Pace of Play Policy

The Tournament Committee will communicate the pace of play it expects to all participants. The Tournament Committee may apply at its discretion, a penalty of 2 points for every violation of the Pace of Play by a player/team.

Code of Conduct

The Tournament Committee requires players to adhere to general standards of conduct expected on a golf course. It reserves the right to penalize a player for violation of these standards by way of point penalties or disqualification as it deems fit.

Decision of the Tournament Committee

The decision of the tournament committee is final on all matters relating to the Rules of Golf, these Terms of Competition, Local Rules and the Rules of Handicapping.
