Handicap rules

  • Each golfer's handicap will be based on their current handicap index as listed on their Golf Club or local golf association affiliation recognized by the USGA or Indian Golf Union.
  • Each golfer's playing handicap will be rounded as per the system calculation of the Golf Genius software.
  • Before accepting a golfer's handicap certificate, we request proof of their handicap index from a recognized golf club (e.g., the USGA or IGU). If the Golfers is not a member at any golf club and doesn’t have a USGA or IGU recognized handicap then is not eligible to qualify for the Grand Finale
  • Once the handicap certificate is verified for the golfer's handicap index, we will use the course handicap formula in the Golf Genius Software to determine their ¾ playing handicap for the GIGA Tournament. Note- The course playing handicap formula uses the golfer's handicap index, the slope rating of the golf course, and the course rating to calculate a playing handicap for that course.
  • Non-official handicaps- Those on Phone Apps, (Grint etc) will not be recognized
  • All handicap certificates must be no older than 21 days prior to the day of the event.
